In My Mailbox: Library Edition (2)

IMM is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.

I've mentioned this before, but I live in a town with an excellent library network. Most of the books I read come from the library. Though with heavily requested books, I can't always predict when they'll arrive. This week I received a lot of them.

I've comed up with a carefully honed system whereby I request anything that looks interesting as soon as it is put in the library network (as soon as the library pre-orders a book it can be reserved), and then wait for it arrive. When it comes, I'll decide whether I'm still interested or not.

On the Left: Books I received but have yet to read:

1) The Heroes of Olympus: The Demigod Diaries by Rick Riordan
2) What Happens Next by Colleen Clayton
3) Valkyrie Rising by Ingrid Paulson
4) Defiance by CJ Redwine
5) Ironskin by Tina Connolly
6) The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness

On the Right: library books I've read this week.

7) The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - look for a review tomorrow.
8) The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson - see my review HERE
9) The Hallowed Ones by Laura Bickle - I'm reading this right now.

Which of the books in the first list are must reads? Which are okay to skip?
I'm starting The Ask and The Answer after The Hallowed Ones.

  1. LOL! Almost every single one of these books is on my TBR pile! I wish I lived in the States or Canada or something so we could get all of these books in our libraries as well, but no, Europe needs to wait a little bit. Still, I can't wait so I just get them as soon as I possibly can. Hopefully you'll enjoy all of these books and happy reading :)

  2. New follower! It's really great that you have such a good library system. The library in my town is sad to say the least. Looks like you got in some great books this week and most of them are on my TBR list as well!

Check out my IMM & SP.

  7. It looks like you've got some really interesting books from your library - and I'm kinda jealous, I wish my local library was as good!
Hope you enjoy reading all the ones you haven't read yet. Becki

  10. What Happens Next is such a gripping read, so I hope you enjoy that one! I need to get my hands on The Hallowed Ones soon, not to mention The Sky is Everywhere! Defiance and Ironskin didn't work out for me, but I'm hoping you have better luck with those two! Fabulous haul, Lauren! :D

  14. Awesome! You are so lucky, the way my library loan system works is that if there isn't an item available somewhere currently, you simply can't request it. It's so freaking annoying, especially for audiobooks, since there are less of those to go around... But your haul looks like so much fun! Good luck getting through them all!

Old follower, here's my book haul :D http://www.onstarshipsanddragonwings.com/2012/10/28/buried-in-books-8/

  16. I agree with Lisa N. above! I got a couple of long awaited library books in and am thrilled but none are new releases. I really liked What Happens Next and I REALLY want to read The Hallowed Ones. What a great Halloween read!

I'm going to read your Mara Dyer review. I don't have plans to read the book but I'm still a bit curious as to what happens next and if all you Mara and Noah lovers are still feeling it:)
