In My Mailbox (5) / Stacking the Shelves (2)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren
Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews

From the library:

Renegade by J. A. Souders - Look for my review this week.

Dearly, Beloved by Lia Habel - I enjoyed Dearly, Departed and I'm looking forward to reading the sequel.

A Conspiracy of Kings by Megan Whalen Turner  - The Queen's Thief book 4. I am going to treat myself to this book soon. I read the first 3 very quickly, but I want to savor this one as  it will be the last until book 5 is published in a few years.

The Mark of Athena by Rick Roirdan - I love Percy Jackson. That is all.

Recent book purchases:

I bought two books this week, after finding out that both authors will be coming to my city for the Dark Days tour. I read and loved both these stories, and I can't wait to meet the writers!

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand - This week I wrote about how much I love the Unearthly series. I bought copies for myself and 3 of my friends so they could read and discuss it with me. I'm getting excited for the conclusion of the series to release in January.

Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi - I cannot wait for Through the Ever Night. It  is one of my most anticipated reads of early 2013.

I also read two novellas:

Radiant by Cynthia Hand  and Roar and Liv by Veronica Rossi - Along with buying books by these authors, I purchased and read the novellas that accompany their book series. Both stories are short and not to be missed!

Ebook purchases:

Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout - I am eager to read book 3 in the Lux series, but I'm a bit nervous about the rumored cliffhanger, so may wait a bit to get into this one.

Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren - I have several friends who have raved about this series, and was excited to discover that the first book was free this week. YAY for free books!

What books have you gotten this week?

  1. I got Waterfall too but forgot to add it to my list! Here’s what books I got this week:

    Alice @ Alice in Readerland

  2. I LOVE the Unearthly series too. Can't wait for Boundless.

  3. Waterfall!! Can't wait for you to read it. As for Opal, I still need to read Onyx. Oh no for cliffhangers though.

  4. Oh my gosh, there is a total cliffhanger at the end of Opal! It's awful. You could read all but the last chapter, though, and be okay. Waiting until July for Origin is going to be painful.

    Happy reading :)

  5. Great Haul. Funny that you mention Through The Ever Night. I'm reading that atm. It's very good so far. Great haul.

  6. I loved Under the Never Sky! Renegade sounds super cool. An underwater dystopian-esque world is so unique and original. I hope you enjoy all of your books!

    Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian

  7. Great haul! I haven't read any of these yet but I have been hearing good things about Renegade!

  8. I can't wait to see what you think of Renegade and Opal, not to mention CONSPIRACY OF KINGS! *fist pump* It's a little disappointing after the PURE AWESOMENESS of KoA, but I think you'll still enjoy it! :) I really wasn't a huge fan of ALL, but I sincerely hope it works out for you! Wonderful haul this week, Lauren!

  9. I loved Unearthly such a great book!

  10. I've been hearing wonderful things about Cynthia hand I'm yet to read her books

  11. Gosh, I have got to hurry up and read Under the Never Sky. It's just sitting on my Kindle waiting for me and I know I am going to LOVE it. Nice haul this week, chica! Interested to hear your take on Dearly, Beloved:)

  12. Oh, these are so good. I can't wait to read the Cynthia Hand books. And I snagged Waterfall a few months ago when it was free for Kindle so I have that one too. Whenever you read it, let me know and if my schedule isn't nasty-crazy I may try and join you if you're up for it. I've heard really great things about that series. I bought Opal too, but I haven't even started Onyx yet because I heard about the cliffy too. I've only read Obsidian and Shadows but you know I LOVED them. Wanted to take a bite out of my Kindle, loved them. Squealed when I saw Opal downloading itself because I actually preordered it and I RARELY do that.

  13. You have SO many good books on here! Most of them happen to be on my own list of books to read (especially The Mark of Athena, since I think Rick Riordan is FABULOUS). Happy reading!
