I completely understand your frustrations and why you are hesitant to read book two (until someone reads it first and gives you a thumbs up/down?). But I think I'm going to read this and perhaps we can discuss? It is available as part of Kindle Unlimited. The cover is BEAUTIFUL. And the weaving is something I have enjoyed in the All Souls books (which I'm still working on). I don't like the idea of another person introduced in the second part of the book so much, but I am willing to read and let you know! AAAHHH this cover. <br />LOVE IT.Asheley T.https://www.blogger.com/profile/03908795522290889438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-58443667448426793442014-09-09T00:30:31.044-04:002014-09-09T00:30:31.044-04:00I actually really liked this one. I was a bit frustrated with their romance, or really, lack thereof. Although the main story was wrapped up, which I appreciated, it still had that twisty cliffhanger at the end that just killed me. What is going to happen to that character??? I can't believe you may not continue with it! :) ~Pamyaescapefromrealityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08200254719073248981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-33744286582173611862014-09-08T18:27:13.956-04:002014-09-08T18:27:13.956-04:00I don't know if this is a book for me, especia...I don't know if this is a book for me, especially with a meh romance and a world that needs a map and glossary to navigate. Still...there are bits that are intriguing!Mary @ BookSwarmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04099395167194720599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-52747412132022777642014-09-07T14:37:51.019-04:002014-09-07T14:37:51.019-04:00Hmph. This makes me depressed :( I'm sorry you didn't love this one, Lauren :\ <3 But I'm glad you didn't hate it either, lol :) Amazing review, as always. <3 But ack. I am worried about this. I'm not sure I want to read it anymore, lol, as the romance thing would bother me too. I want romance in my books. And this doesn't sound awesome. Sigh. And maybe love triangle in book two? HAH. I'm sure there will be one. Just you wait. It always happens :( Which sucks. Sigh. Anyway. Thank you for sharing sweetie. <3 Carina Olsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10962924929801205597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-18654927944698453912014-09-07T14:32:21.081-04:002014-09-07T14:32:21.081-04:00Yeah, just from these thoughts I'm gonna strik...Yeah, just from these thoughts I'm gonna strike this off the list (but it's so pretty!). I hate worlds where I get confused by the names (and from this list I would be), the romance sounds like a dud, and just the NEED to introduce another guy whether or not she reciprocates? Nope...Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00416898799044848769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-33420092857360955212014-09-05T16:18:14.399-04:002014-09-05T16:18:14.399-04:00I'll be curious to see what you make of the se...I'll be curious to see what you make of the sequel should you choose to pick it up but I know I won't be returning to it. Noooo. I wasn't a fan of this one to a very large extent and while I felt as if aspects of it were certainly positive, for the most part this just felt too messy. :/ Love this review and format, though, Lauren--fantastic! :)Keertanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01071392026876644282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-73407975014960996972014-09-05T14:03:10.579-04:002014-09-05T14:03:10.579-04:00I REALLY like the description of this one ("I...I REALLY like the description of this one ("In the Labyrinth, we had a saying: keep silent, keep still, keep safe" gave me chills!) but I agree with Jenny - characters who clearly want to be together, but yet never work up the courage to make it happen make me insane. INSANE. So now I'm undecided. I love that your review is so thorough and specific! I struggle with characters who clearly want to be together, but yet never work up the courage to make it happen. And then add in a new possible romantic interest and I start to get a nervous tic ;-) I think I'll wait to see how book two plays out before trying this one Lauren!Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14199685365145765394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-77607761804041406082014-09-05T06:24:43.663-04:002014-09-05T06:24:43.663-04:00Kai sounds a bit frustrating. I think there should be some balance. Great review, Lauren.:) I'm hoping there's no love triangle in the next one! Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16682335183798720529noreply@blogger.com
