I don't doubt that it was a frightening and exciting read. I'm glad Daniel and Gretchen get some peace as far as their lives go seeing as this is the series ender. I absolutely love this duology, as you know, and the romance especially is one of my favorites. I'm glad there's very little drama, though the middle section had me worried with their doubts. But like you said, it's great that they support each other no matter what. It's a really mature relationship, which I love.
Great review!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06307895303115762938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-18171019510189573092015-04-22T06:31:55.744-04:002015-04-22T06:31:55.744-04:00Gorgeous review Lauren :D But ugh. But at the same time, I am glad that you liked it, that you weren't disappointed like I was :) Loved reading your thoughts about this book sweetie. <3Carina Olsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10962924929801205597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-74590447812935226282015-04-21T20:41:32.245-04:002015-04-21T20:41:32.245-04:00I'm so happy you loved this one too, Lauren. She was wonderful and yes to everything you mentioned about the romance. It was so perfect and realistic.
Anne mentioned she was writing a fun historical adventure next. I'm really looking forward to it! :)
Lovely review, Lauren!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-10341000127010681822015-04-21T13:55:44.685-04:002015-04-21T13:55:44.685-04:00I've read so many good reviews for both of the...I've read so many good reviews for both of these books but...maybe? I'm not always into historical fiction like this. I do like historical romance but YA almost feels like work. I'm going to blame teaching English for so many years and being forced to teach the same historical stories over and over. And Gretchen's personal growth was wonderful. You're right, she was a whole new person in this one. I must confess I missed Hitler here, he was so fascinating in the first book, but overall, it was a fabulous read.
