I have a feeling we are going to have many similar thoughts on this one judging by our conversations while reading. But overall I do think Johnson has gotten this series back on track with this book:) Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07026974627724672435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-92228971378762138742015-02-28T12:37:23.451-05:002015-02-28T12:37:23.451-05:00I just picked up my pre-order with swag. I'm also quite interested in the death/dying phenomenon, so the whole mystical aspect is very intriguing to me.

C.J.
Sarcasm & LemonsC.J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/03239098373565351135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-79930102936392687762015-02-28T12:28:06.279-05:002015-02-28T12:28:06.279-05:00I'd have BIG issues with this story considerin...I'd have BIG issues with this story considering your spoiler, Lauren. I have the first book but never read it after the reviews started coming in on the second book. I hate the human/(your spoiler) relationships as well, because, really how can that work?!! I'd have to message you if I wanted to pick this series up to get a proper explanation and evaluate. I can see how you'd be so disappointed with the last book. Wonderful review! But not sure I will read the rest of the books. Sigh. Because I liked her boyfriend in book one. And I hate how it sort of turned into a triangle. Though not really one. But I didn't like the new love interest in book one :p and I'm not sure I would like him in the other books either, lol, though you did love him :D I'm kind of curious about this book, but not much :p Though I own them. Hmph. I might read them one day :D Anyway. Gorgeous review Lauren. <3 Thank you so much for sharing all your amazing thoughts about this book :)Carina Olsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10962924929801205597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6652084782125897918.post-46752015225772206612015-02-27T23:33:50.781-05:002015-02-27T23:33:50.781-05:00I've read that the second novel in this trilog...I've read that the second novel in this trilogy isn't the greatest, so I'm glad this is better though I'm not getting the sense that this is necessarily a series I should read. It seemed promising but the romantic development and the fact that there is probably still more to come, but with long waiting periods in-between, isn't too hopeful. Thanks for your honest thoughts, Lauren--this is a series I'm going to be skipping for sure. I lo...I agree with pretty much all of your review. I loved it, but I wanted MORE, especially between the two characters. It could have packed a much more emotional punch, but at the same time, given how new it all was at the end of book 2, it seemed realistic that it would stall a bit. I'm really hoping we get what we're both wanting in book 4, however.

This series has definitely been entertaining and I love the whole ghost hunters aspect, but it's sort of strange how it has progressed in terms of plot. In the first book, there was a clear main plot and it was resolved. I loved that because you don't get that. Then the second book starts this second plot, the third book continues it, and I'm assuming the fourth book will wrap it up. So the last three books read to me more like a typical trilogy, if that makes sense. Anyway, love all of the characters, and yes again to wanting more of some of them.

I was surprised at how the one big issue was resolved because that could have been quite the problem since Rory does what she does to ghosts.

Great review! And hopefully what I've written makes sense, I was trying not to write any spoilers for people who haven't read the series. ~Pamyaescapefromrealityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08200254719073248981noreply@blogger.com
