Top Ten Series I Still Haven't Started

Ten Eleven Series I'd Like To Start But Haven't Yet

I got excited about this topic, because I am planning a series challenge for this summer (Look for details soon).  My goal is to tackle some of these series in mass, and also finish series I've started but have yet to complete.

Three of my favorite series from last year are The Lumatere Chronicles by Melina Marchetta, The Queen's Thief by Megan Whalen Turner and Sevenwaters by Juliet Marillier.

I've only included series below that are completed, or nearly.

1) Soul Screamers - My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent

2) The Chemical Garden - Wither by Lauren DeStefano

3) The Kingkiller Chronicle - The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

4) Jessica Darling - Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty

5) Kate Daniels - Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews

6) Wicked Lovely by Marissa Marr

7) River of Time - Waterfall by Lisa Tawn Bergren

8) Hundred Oaks - Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally (This is a companion series)

9) Fire and Thorns - The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson

10) Books of Faerie - Lament by Maggie Stiefvater

11) The Caster Chronicles Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl - I'm actually still undecided about this one.

  1. Wicked Lovely was different, but I didn't finish it. I think I didn't connect with the characters enough, but I'm sure I'll give it a try again someday. Rachel Vincent's Soul Screamers first two books are not that good, but I'm at book three and so anxious to read the fourth one already, because they start to become their own. I think they're umm.. different, fast-paced and with great characters. A bit predictable, but still good. The Caster Chronicles - I've read them all and the last two are so, so good, the first one was okay and I didn't finish the second one. I finished the second one via spoilery reviews and wikipedia, but yup, the last two were really good. I hope you'll start all of these series on your list soon and I can't wait to see what you think of them:)

  6. I've got Kate Daniels on my list too. ;)
I read 'The Name of the Wind' it was not bad but I was not thrilled like some other people either. I guess I expected more because of all the hype.
    Nice list. :)

  8. There is something to be said for a good, well-written series, but like you, it's hard to find the time to read all the books. I'll definitely be waiting for your challenge and perhaps will need to carve out some time to dig in as well!

I'm super excited about The Lunar Chronicles as I hear nothing but good things. I'd also like to check out The Castor Chronicles since I just saw Beautiful Creatures on screen. I'm hoping the book will make the movie make more sense to me. And I ADORE Maggie Stiefvater, though, I'm not sure I can get into a fairy series. That still remains to be seen. Great picks!

    1. I agree with that, and the longer they get the more daunting they seem! I hope to knock some of these out in a big chunk though. Love the Lunar Chronicles, especially book 2 Scarlet. Even the novellas are great. I hear that the Beautiful Creatures book is better, and a little different. Hope you enjoy it more. I know, I'm not certain about MS's fairy series. But I love her writing so much that I plan to take the plunge. Thanks for stopping by!

  17. I also want to read the Jessica Darling series! Chemical Garden made my list, too! I read the first Kate Daniels book and wasn't overly impressed, but everyone tells me they get better, so I'm going to keep reading. I adored Soul Screamers. Probably one of my favorite YA series.

  19. I need to start every one of these series except for the last one, which I don't think I want to read. And I've read the Chemical Garden books but I'll reread them a hundred times. I've read the first Kingkiller book but I need to finish. I should've just copied and pasted your list. Also, I still need to email you mine. I have some I need to add to this. But you've started a pretty good list for me here. I see some readalongs in the future.
