Waiting on Wednesday: Shadows and Haze by Paula Weston

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine
that spotlights upcoming releases that we can't wait to get our hands on.

This week I read:

Shadows
by Paula Weston
To be published in the US: September 10th 2013 by Tundra Books (Random House)
(Previously published in Australia)

It's almost a year since Gaby Winters watched her twin brother die. In the sunshine of a new town her body has healed, but her grief is raw and constant. It doesn't help that every night in her dreams she fights and kills hell-beasts. And then Rafa comes to town. Not only does he look exactly like the guy who's been appearing in Gaby's dreams, he tells her things about her brother and her life that cannot be true, things that are dangerous. Who is Rafa? Who are the Rephaim? And who is Gaby? The truth lies in the shadows of her nightmares.

I will be reviewing this one soon, but you should be adding it to your TBR!

Now I can't wait for:

Haze
by Paula Weston
Publication TBD in US, probably 2014
Published in Australia May 2013

I'm not putting up this description, because it's best to go into the first book not knowing anything. I loved being SURPRISED as I went along. All I pretty much knew was the description of Shadows and that it had something to do with angel mythology. And guys, book 1 has major SWOON. You don't want to miss Rafa.

Not sure if I'm going to be able to wait until the US release of book 2!

What are you waiting on this week?

  1. I saw your email and will hopefully get time to respond to it today evening, but I'm so thrilled you enjoyed Shadows! It really was such a great debut and though it was similar to DoSaB, I'm glad it took a different route. I'm really excited to read Haze myself, so hopefully it'll be out soon! *fingers crossed*

  2. I haven't heard of (or read) either of these books, but it sounds like something I'll enjoy a lot. I can always count on you to give me great new books for my TBR! Thanks so much for sharing, Lauren! :)

  3. I like that the covers look similar, so you know they're part of a series, which definitely sounds intriguing!

  4. Major swoon you say Lauren? SOLD! That's pretty much all I need to know, romance junkie that I am. I'm definitely adding both books to my list. *gets ready to swoon over Rafa*

  6. I JUST got Shadows from NG because I've been seeing it around so much, and this post has me even more excited to start it. Major swoon? I'm in. I've seen this lumped in with the Angelfall level of awesomeness, so I am doubly in. Great pick!

  7. Oh, these covers are so pretty :O I need a new angel book series in addition to Sweet Evil and Unearthly (which are both unfinished for me currently for different reasons as you can imagine) and this seems like the perfect one. I haven't started Angelfall yet since the second one comes out in 2014 -.- but I want to get a new angel book to my reading pile. Thanks so much for the recommendation! :)
